Update: Crawfest Rescheduled for Tuesday, April 26

April showers bring May flowers… and rescheduled crawfish boils.

It is with great sadness that I must yet again inform you that the crawfish boil scheduled for this Thursday must be postponed due to inclement weather. We are rescheduling for Tuesday, April 26th. Once again, if you have already bought your ticket and cannot attend on Tuesday, we will give a refund.

Despite these scheduling issues, we hope you will still make the effort to come out to one of our favorite events. We’ll be boiling the crawfish on site this year, offering free hotdogs, and providing games for the kiddos. We believe it will be the best crawfish boil yet! Please join us next Tuesday, April 26th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in Cypress Park. Don’t forget to pick your tickets up in the Dean of Students office!

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

Prayer Ministry to Louisiana Legislature

The Institute for Faith and the Public Square is searching for volunteers to participate in a prayer ministry to our Louisiana legislature. There are 39 Senators and 105 representatives in our state. This prayer initiative is called Project 219. It is named after room 219 in the United States Capital where people of both parties, dubbed the “Congressional Prayer Caucus,” gather once a week for prayer.

As a prayer volunteer your responsibilities would be:
· Contact your assigned legislator, informing him or her that you will be praying
· Ask your legislator for prayer requests
· Commit to praying over those requests

The purpose of this prayer ministry is to establish and develop healthy relationships with our state legislators thereby creating an environment of trust and mutual respect with the intent of encouraging Christians and being a light to non-believers. All contact will be non-partisan and apolitical. We are prayer partners, not lobbyists.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Dr. Lloyd Harsch at lharsch@nobts.edu or Dustin Walters at dustin.walters@welch.edu. Thank you for considering this vital prayer ministry!

Mission trip to Ecuador

Would you like to travel to Ecuador in October on a mission trip?
